Tokyo Steel Cuts Local Scrap Purchase Prices
Japan's top electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co reduced its purchase prices of locally available ferrous scrap by Y500/ton for overland arrivals of all grades at the company's Okayama works and by Y500/ton for all grades at its three other works, effective with Sept 11 arrivals. At the Okayama works, the purchase prices are unchanged for seaborne arrivals, with Y24,000/ton delivered for No2 HMS.

As a result, the company's new purchase prices of No2 HMS are Y24,000/ton delivered Okayama works for overland arrivals; Y22,500/ton delivered Kyushu works for arrivals by land and sea; Y21,500/ton delivered Takamatsu works for arrivals by land and sea; and Y22,000/ton delivered Utsunomiya works for overland arrivals.
