Tokyo Steel To Sell Processed HR Steel Products Out Of Okayama Works
Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co announced Sept 21 that the company intends to begin the marketing in October of processed HR steel products out of its flagship Okayama works in western Japan. The idea is to meet tight supply-demand conditions for heavy plate at home. The asking price for base sizes is set at Y73,000/ton FOT (free on truck).

In this connection, Tokyo Steel has already installed a leveling machine, costing Y1,000 million, at the Okayama works. The leveling machine, bought from South Korea's Daehyun Tech Co, has a processing capacity of 240,000 tpy (20,000 tpm) for HR coils, pickled HR coils, checkered plates in coils, and GI sheets. Processible sizes are 1.5mm-12.0mm thick and a maximum 1,300mm wide.
