|Tokyo Steel Ups Local Scrap Purchase Prices At Four Works|
Japan's top electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co increased its purchase prices of locally available ferrous scrap by Y1,500/ton for all grades at the company's Okayama, Takamatsu, and Utsunomiya works, and by Y1,000/ton for all grades at the company's Kyushu works, effective with Sept 23 arrivals.
As a result, the new purchase prices of No2 HMS are Y25,500/ton delivered Okayama works; Y23,000/ton delivered Kyushu works; Y22,500/ton delivered Takamatsu works, each for arrivals by land and sea; and Y23,000/ton delivered Utsunomiya works for overland arrivals.
Tokyo Steel's purchase price increase this time marked a second case since an August 3 execution.
