- BHP Billiton time-chartered the "ERIC D" (169,883 dwt) with delivery at Beilun and redelivery in China after making the round of Australia. Charter rate: $55,000 per day. Laycan schedule: Jan. 8 - 10.

  <Australia - East Asia>
- Cargill time-chartered the "ZORBAS" (165,055 dwt) with delivery at Dalian and redelivery in East Asia after making the round of Australia. Charter rate: $47,500 per day.

  <Australia - Taiwan>
- China Steel Express, subsidiary of Taiwan's China Steel Corp time-chartered the "LUCIANA DELLA GATTA" (122,780 dwt) with delivery at Xingang, Tianjin and redelivery in Taiwan after making the round of Queensland, Australia. Charter rate: $32,500 per day.

  - Norden time-chartered the "SANTA VICTORIA" (75,966 dwt) with delivery in the Philippines and redelivery in Europe after making the round of Indonesia. Charter rate: $30,000 per day. Laycan was started Jan. 3 - 5.

- BHP Billiton time-chartered the "JOYOUS AGE" (69,271 dwt) with delivery at Wakayama and redelivery at Skaw, Denmark and Cape Passero, Italy after making the round of Australia. Charter rate: $32,000 per day. Laycan was started Jan. 4 - 6.
