- China's Wuhan Iron & Steel (Group) voyage-chartered the a TBN owned by Chinese Parakou to load 160,000 tons of iron ore at Ponta do Ubu, Brazil for transport to Beilun. Freight rate: $40 per ton. (Fio scale loading; unloading 30,000 tons/day) Laycan schedule: Feb. 18 - 28.

  <Brazil - Italy>
- ILVA of Italy voyage-chartered the IRON QUEEN to load 150,000 tons of iron ore at Tubarao, Brazil for transport to Taranto. Freight rate: $24.50 per ton. (Fio scale loading; unloading 40,000 tons/day) Laycan schedule: Feb. 5 - 24.

  <Western Australia - China>
- China's North China Lines time-chartered the PYTCHLEY (179,869 dwt) with delivery at Beilun and redelivery in China after making the round of Western Australia. Charter rate: $66,000 per day. Laycan schedule: Feb. 5 - 7.
- Mitsui O.S.K. time-chartered the KATERINA V (171,061 dwt) with delivery at Baoshan and redelivery in northern China after making the round of Western Australia. Charter rate: $70,000 per day. Laycan schedule: Feb. 18 - 28.

- North China Lines time-chartered the ALINA II (179,802 dwt) with delivery at Qingdao and redelivery in China after making the round of Brazil. Charter rate: $56,000 per day. Laycan started Jan. 27.
