Hon. Dr. Geoff Gallop, Western Australian Premier To Visit Japan July 4
= Presence at Western Australian Week of EXPO 2005 Aichi Japan, courtesy visit to Japanese companies scheduled
Hon. Dr. Geoff Gallop, Premier of the State Government of Western Australian is scheduled to visit Japan with an itinerary of July 4 to 8. The purposes of his visit are to attend an event sponsored by the State Government of Western Australia at The 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan; to pay courtesy visits to Japanese companies under close relationships with the State, and to take part in wide-ranged cultural and educational interchanges.

On July 4 an industrial seminar is to take place at a hotel in Tokyo (Imperial Hotel) with participation of some 20 companies from Australia in the fields of resources related technologies (exploration, processing, etc.), care of elderly people, Tech Park, Bio-Tech and others. Jim Limerick, Director General of the Department of Industry and Resources is planning to delivery a speech at the seminar.

After participation in the industrial seminar, Premier Gallop will proceed to Kobe on 6th, and then to Aichi on July 7 and 8 to attend the Western Australian Week. Each of Australian States is offering a week long specific events at the Australian Pavilion. They will have the honor of his presence at the Western Australia-sponsored first week of July.

During his stay in Japan, he is additionally planning to pay courtesy visits to Tokyo Gas, Tokyo Electric Power Co., trading companies and steel mills having close relationships with Western Australia.
