Japan's top electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap at its three works in the west of the nation, effective with Oct 7 arrivals. The reductions are Y1,000/ton for all grades at the Okayama and Kyushu works, and Y500/ton for all grades at the Takamatsu works.
As a result, the new purchase prices of No2 HMS are Y26,000/ton delivered Okayama works, Y25,000/ton delivered Kyushu works, and Y24,000/ton delivered Takamatsu works, each for arrivals by land and sea. |
