| China Steel Corp Rekindles Jan. 23 Kaohsiung No. 2 Blast Furnace |

Taiwan's integrated steelmaker, China Steel Corp announced January 23 it rekindled Kaohsiung No. 2 blast furnace at 09:30 a.m. on the same day. This ensued after the completion of third relining work that increased inner volume from 2,850 m3 to 3,270 m3 and annual production capacity from 2.0 to 2.4 million tons. Pig iron output by the blast furnace totaled 18.95 Mt over 10 years and 7 months until the first relining, and 26.98 Mt over 12 years and 10 months until the second. |
