'K' LINE Opens New Bulk Cargo Business Base At Shanghai
= A staff member to be dispatched from Tokyo to comply with local regulations
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" LINE) announced February 1 that it established a new business base in Shanghai, a center of ferrous raw material businesses, effective February 1, 2006, to reinforce bulk tramper operations around. The base is represented by a new Bulk Division installed within "K" Line (China) Ltd., an overseas subsidiary of "K" LINE in China. A "K" Line staff member will be sent from Tokyo in due course.

As a fundamental assignment of "K" LINE Vision 2008, the new mid-term management plan of the group, "K" LINE says it is committed to address itself to positively promoting strategic fields in regional markets. In that regard, China has shown remarkable economic growth, developing into an important and leading player in global markets in business relevant to iron and steel materials and products.

Opening of the new base in Shanghai is aimed at pursuing new cargo movements and further increasing business opportunities by strengthening the Company's region-rooted business practices as well as improving and developing current services for existing customers.
