| China's Iron Ore Imports To July 2006 By Discharge Port |
| = Imports into Qingdao running at annual rate of 140 Mt |

According to China's Customs Statistics, iron ore imports into the country in January to July 2006 were: Qingdao, Shandong Province, 60.6 million tons (Mt), a 32.5% share in the total imports; Tianjin, Tianjin Special City, 21.1 Mt, 11.3%; Ningbo, Zhejiang Prov., 16.0 Mt, 8.6%; Nanjing, Jiangsu Prov., 15.0 Mt, 8.0%; and Shanghai, Shanghai Special City, 13.6 Mt, 7.3%. These top five took a 67.7% share in the total. With regard to Qingdao, imports into this port area alone are running at an exorbitant annual rate of 140 Mt. This port, attending steel mills located mainly in Shandong and Shanxi Provinces, statistically includes Rizhao port and others, as well. |
