Completion has been reported of extraction of bunker oil that remained in one of the two ferrous raw material carriers that ran aground off Kashima port on October 24. Shifting with lighters of cargo away from the vessel has ensued immediately.
Daiichi Chuo Kisen informs oil extraction has been started for MV "OCEAN VICTORY" (174,148 dwt) and shifting with lighters of cargo commenced following completion of oil extraction from Canadian coal loaded MV "ELLIDA ACE" (171,091 dwt). Stormy weather caused by the strong low atmospheric pressure threw the two ferrous raw material carriers successively in stranding.
All crew of the two carriers have already been rescued safe. |
