| China's Wisco Reports Domestic Price Hikes For April Shipments |

China's major integrated steelmaker Wuhan Iron & Steel Group Corp (Wisco) has announced domestic price increases for April shipments of almost all the steel products the company sells, it was learned in Tokyo Tuesday. As a result, chances are rival Chinese steelmaker Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corp will opt to execute domestic price increases as well for April shipments. China's top integrated steelmaker Baoshan Iron & Steel Co has already reported domestic price increases for April-June shipments of almost all the steel products the company sells. Wisco's announced price increases are as follows. Flat products - Price increases are Y100/ton (US$13) for HR coils, Yn300/ton (US$38) for CR coils, Yn500-1,000/ton (US$64-128) for GO (grain oriented) electrical sheets, Yn500/ton (US$64) for high grades of non-GO electrical sheets, Yn300/ton (US$38) for low grades of non-GO electrical sheets, Yn200/ton (US$26) for ship plate, and Yn100/ton (US$13) for other grades of heavy plate. Long products - Wire rods are subject to a price increase of Yn200/ton (US$26). Coated products - Price increases are Yn100/ton (US$13) for tinplate, Yn100/ton for hot-dip galvanized sheets, and Yn200/ton (US$26) for colored sheets. |
