Finland's Iron Ore Imports In 2006
= 3.48 Mt alone, down 17.4% from 2005 =
According to Eurostat, iron ore imports into Finland in 2006 turned out to be 3.48 million tons (Mt), a decline of 17.4% from the previous year. Imports from the largest source -- neighboring Sweden -- remained 2.47 Mt alone, a reduction of 22.5%.

In Finland integrated steel company Rautaruukki Corp is the consumer of imported iron ore. Having two blast furnaces, Rautaruukki produces annually 3 Mt plus of pig iron, and a wide-ranged steel products, such as pipes, sheets, plates, and coils.
