|Tokyo Steel Ups Scrap Purchase Prices At Three West Japan Works|
Japan's top electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co increased what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500-1,000/ton from Aug 2 at its three works in the west of the nation. |
At the Okayama works, a purchase price increase of Y500/ton applies to all grades of seaborne arrivals, while another purchase price increase of Y1,000/ton applies to all grades of overland arrivals. At the Kyushu works, a purchase price increase of Y500/ton applies to all grades of seaborne and overland arrivals. At the Takamatsu works, a purchase price increase of Y1,000/ton applies to all grades of seaborne and overland arrivals.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y39,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y40,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y39,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; and Y38,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works.
Meanwhile, Tokyo Steel's purchase prices of local ferrous scrap remain unchanged at its Utsunomiya works in the Kanto area. The delivered price of No2 HMS is Y37,500/ton for overland arrivals.
