|Tokyo Steel Revises Scrap Purchase Prices At Kyushu, Utsunomiya Works|
Japan's top electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has revised what the company pays for locally available scrap from Aug 7 at its Kyushu works in the west of the nation and its Utsunomiya works in the Kanto area.|
At the Kyushu works, a purchase price increase of Y500/ton applies to all grades of overland arrivals. At the Utsunomiya works, a purchase price reduction of 1,000/ton applies to all grades of overland arrivals.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y39,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Kyushu works and Y36,500/ton for those at the Utsunomiya works. For seaborne arrivals at the Kyushu works, the delivered price of No2 HMS is unchanged at Y39,000/ton.
At Tokyo Steel's Okayama and Takamatsu works, the purchase prices of local ferrous scrap remain unchanged this time. The delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y39,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y40,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works, and Y38,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works.
