Japan's cooperative association of Osaka-based metal recyclers has sold Arae Shoukai Co 5,000 tons of No2 HMS at Y37,330/ton FAS Osaka Bay in the tender the association held Aug 10 to export locally available ferrous scrap from the Osaka area for shipment Sept 10-Oct 10. In the tender, Arae Shoukai made the highest bid of Y37,330/ton FAS for 5,000 tons of No2 HMS. |
The winning bid this time represents a new high of successful bids in ferrous scrap export tenders that have taken place until now in the Kanto and Osaka areas. The winning bid is higher by Y607 than the average of successful bids in the export tender held Aug 9 by the Kanto Tetsugen cooperative association of ferrous scrap dealers. Also, the winning bid indicates an increase of Y210 on the highest successful bid in the same Kanto Tetsugen tender.
Meanwhile, Japan's No2 HMS export market looks set to move up further in an upswing of inquiries from South Korea and resumed purchases by Taiwan's electric steelmakers, many of market sources believe.
