Japan's nationwide production of small bars totaled 1,019,800 tons in July 2007, up 0.3% from a year ago (down 6.1% from a month ago), according to announced data from the Japan Iron & Steel Federation. As a result, nationwide production of small bars exceeded the level of a year ago for 22 consecutive months. |
Japanese small bar production hit a cumulative 7,161,600 tons in January-July 2007, up 3.7% from the same period of 2006, a high level of 1,023,000 tpm on average. The production volume totaled 4,243,600 tons in April-July 2007, up 3.0% from the corresponding period of 2006.
