|Japan Exported Stainless Steel Products In September 2007 On Lower Level Than 100,000 Tons|
|= Exported 97,451 Tons, Having Decreased By 26% Compared To Same Month 2006|
Japan Iron and Steel Federation compiled the data on exports of stainless steel products from Japan in September of 2007 on the basis of the statistics released by the Ministry of Finance and the contents were as per the table shown below.|
Namely, Japan exported 97,451 tons of stainless steel products in September of 2007, which had a considerable decrease of 26.1% compared with that ( 131,984 tons ) in the same month of 2006 and also decreased by 2.5% compared to that ( 100,027 tons ) in the previous month of August.
The unit price of stainless steel products averaged on exports in September was US$4,190 per ton, having fallen by 4.0% from that ( US$4,368 ) in the previous month of August. The unit prices of stainless steel products exported from Japan to China and the USA in September of 2007 had risen but those for Taiwan and South Korea had fallen to a large extent.
When the quantities of stainless steel products exported from Japan to man destinations in September of 2007 are compared with those in the same month of 2006, <> for China : decreased by 40.7%, <> for South Korea : decreased by 46.2%, <> for Taiwan : increased by 8.5%, <> for USA : decreased by 39.0% and <> for Thailand ( 10,835 tons ) : decreased by 6.98%. Therefore, only the export for Taiwan in September of 2007 had an increase compared to that in the same month of 2006.
The amount of stainless steel products exported from Japan in September of 2007 came to US$408.344 million , corresponding to Yen 47,008.50 million.
For a reference, the total quantity of special steels, including stainless steel, exported from Japan in September of 2007 was 469,851 tons, having decreased by 2.6% compared with that in the same month of 2006.
