Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices At Four Works
Japan's top electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500/ton for all grades of arrivals at its four works, effective with Nov 20 purchases.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y38,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y38,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y38,500/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y39,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y37,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; and Y36,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
