Price Of South African Fe-Cr For Q1 / 08 Is Being Settled In Early Stage By Rise
= The Price For Europe Is Being Concluded By A Rise Of 21 US-Cents Per Lb. / Cr
The price of South African charge chrome for shipments in the next quarter ( January - March of 2008 ) is in the direction of being settled in an early stage by a rise of 21 US-Cents per lb. of Cr. Samancor Chrome has already conducted a grand campaign by emphasizing the necessity to rise price of charge chrome by more than 30 US-Cents per lb.

In consequence of the marathon negotiations on price of South African charge chrome for shipments in October - December quarter of 2007, the price has been settled by roll-over and South African producers have been not satisfied with this settlement of the price. The reason is that, under the present situation, an increase of production costs certainly comes to 20 US-Cents per lb. at least covering only the rises of prices for raw materials and fuel. The background of this early settlement on price of South African charge chrome is able to be pointed out by the fact that a rise of 20 US-Cents per lb. is thought to be a comparatively moderate extent.
