Chinese Government Supplements Two Producers To Approved Moly Exporters, Totaling To 34
= Two Producers Located In Harbin And Chengdu Respectively, Action To Raise Export Duty Is Anticipated
The Central Government of China has supplemented as of the 19th of December two molybdenum producers to the approved molybdenum exporters, having totaled to 34 Chinese companies as the producers admitted by the Government to export molybdenum products from China.

The names of two molybdenum producers approved this time by The Central Government of China are <> Chengdu Mulii Scientific Technologies Co., Ltd. and <> Harbin Songjiang Copper Industry ( Group ) Co. Chinese molybdenum producers qualified by the Government to export molybdenum products are required to have had the actual quantities of 3,000 tons per annum as produced and 300 tons per annum as exported respectively in the past years. These enterprises are necessary to produce molybdenum oxide, containing 51% min. of Mo, and ferro-molybdenum, containing 55% min. of Mo. Also, the qualified enterprises to export molybdenum products from China must have the actual records, having produced more than 800 tons per annum of molybdenum acid chloride and more than 300 tons per annum of molybdenum metal ( including powder and so on ).

For a reference, the Central Government of China announced on the end of November that the quantity ( on material ) of molybdenum products allocated to exports in the calendar year ( January - December ) of 2008 has totaled to 26,300 tons, but the quantities broken down by kinds of molybdenum products ( for metallurgical use and chemical use ) and the quota for each exporter were not notified. Therefore, the negotiations on exports of Chinese molybdenum products for shipments in 2008 have become sluggish. Also, the parties concerned in Chinese molybdenum have a view that the Central Government of China is supposed to have an intention to raise the duty on exports of molybdenum products ( molybdenum oxide and ferro-molybdenum ) by 5% , effective from the 1st January of 2008. The present rate of export duty on molybdenum is 10%.
