| Output Of Vanadium By Evraz In Jan. - Mar. 2008 |
| = Produced 7,141 Tons On V Content Base, Having Increased By 5% From That In Q4 / 07 |

The Evraz Group, a leading steel producer in Russia, released on the 15th of April their production activities in the first quarter ( January - March ) of 2008. According to this report, the Group produced 7,141 tons of vanadium on content base in the first quarter of 2008, having increased by 4.9% compared with that in the fourth quarter ( October - December ) of 2007. The quantity of 7,141 tons on V content base produced by the Group in the first quarter of 2008 had included the quantity produced by Strategic Minerals Corporation ( SMC ) of the USA, which was taken over by Evraz in September of 2006, the portion received from Highveld Steel & Vanadium Corporation ( Highveld ) of South Africa, which was also taken over by Evraz in May of 2007, and the output produced newly in Europe from 2008. The total quantity of vanadium produced by the Group in the first quarter of 2008 had an increase compared to that in the fourth quarter of 2007 but, when the quantity produced in Europe is deducted, the quantity of vanadium produced in the first quarter of 2008 had a decline in comparison with those in the first quarter of 2007 as well as in the fourth quarter of 2007. The quantities of vanadium on content base produced by the Evraz Group in the first quarter ( January - March ) of 2008 were as follows ; (1)Vanadium slag : 2,733 tons ( compared with 2,889 tons in the fourth quarter of 2007 ) produced in Russia (2)Vanadium alloys and chemicals : 4,408 tons ( 3,916 tons in 2007 ), consisting of <> 549 tons produced in North America ( 520 tons in 2007 ), <> 3,403 tons produced in South Africa ( 3,395 tons in 2007 ) and <> 456 tons produced in Europe ( nil in 2007 ). |
