Ferrous scrap exports out of Belgium totaled 2,955,000 tons in calendar 2007, down 1.3% from a year ago, according to Belgian trade statistics made available in Tokyo.
In the breakdown by main destinations, Turkey took the largest quantity of 898,000 tons or 30.4% of the total, up 32.3% from a year ago.
Luxembourg ranked second at 562,000 tons or 19.0%, up 10.2% from a year ago; France third at 553,000 tons or 18.7%, down 36.6%; Egypt fourth at 295,000 tons or 10.0%, down 2.9%; and the Netherlands fifth at 208,000 tons or 7.0%, up 5.4%. |
