Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y2,000/ton for all grades at its Utsunomiya works in the Kanto area, effective with August 20 purchases. As a result, the new delivered price of No2 HMS is Y50,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
Tokyo Steel's purchase prices of local ferrous scrap remain unchanged at the company's three works in the west of the nation. The delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y53,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y53,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; and Y52,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works. |
