Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y3,000-5,000/ton at its four works, effective with August 29 purchases.
A price reduction of Y3,000/ton applies to seaborne arrivals at the Okayama works, seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu and Takamatsu works, and overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works. Another price reduction of Y5,000/ton applies to overland arrivals at the Okayama works.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y44,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y45,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y44,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y45,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y43,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; and Y41,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works. |
