| China's Domestic Iron Ore Production In Aug 08 |

According to the statistics of China's domestic production in August 2008 of major industrial products announced by National Bureau of Statistics on September 17, iron ore production (in terms of crude ore) during the period turned out to be 62.410 million tons (Mt), an increase of 3.1% from the same period last year. Derived January to August production totaled 519.318 Mt, an increase of 20.3%, or annually 780 Mt. In terms of iron and steel production, 40.045 Mt of pig iron and 42.568 Mt of crude steel were produced in August, with respective cumulative production to this month totaling 329.121 Mt (up 6.5%) and 351.092 Mt (up 8.3%), or 4.90 Mt and 5.30 Mt, in terms of annual total, respectively. |
