According to China's domestic production in September 2008 of major industrial products announced on October 22 by National Bureau of Statistics, iron and steel production during the period in the country all fell below the levels of a year ago, while domestic iron ore production showed a two-digit increase. In the month immediately before, output of pig iron and steel products slightly dropped from August of a year before, and crude steel slightly increased. Production of these commodities all saw declines in September -- a new downturn for Chinese iron and steel production that has been on the straight rise. |
