Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has raised what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap at its four works, effective with Nov 13 purchases, which indicates the company's purchase price increase for the first time in nearly two months since Sept 19.
A price increase of Y500/ton applies to all grades of arrivals at the Okayama, Kyushu, and Takamatsu works in the west of the nation. Also, another price increase of Y1,000/ton applies to all grades of arrivals at the Utsunomiya works in the Kanto area.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y13,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y13,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y12,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; and Y12,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works. |
