= Effective From 1st December 2008, Duties On Exports Of Normal Ferro-Alloys Remain Unchanged
The Central Government of China announced on the end of last week the duties to be imposed on exports of ferro-alloys from the 1st December of 2008 and, according to this announcement, excluding part grade of silicon metal, the duties to be imposed on exports of ferro-alloys from China have remained unchanged.

However, the duty to be imposed on export of silicon metal with Si 99.99% max. has been decided to raise from 10% at present to 15%, effective from the 1st December of 2008.

The duties to be imposed on exports of ferro-alloys from China have remained on the followings ; <> 20% on manganese ferro-alloys, <> 20% on chrome ferro-alloys, <> 25% on ferro-silicon and <> 20% on special ferro-alloys (molybdenum, nickel, tungsten, titanium, vanadium and niobium).

The Central Government of China has already raised from January of 2008 the duties on exports of ferro-alloys by 5 - 10% and, in line with the policy to control exports of Chinese ferro-alloys, the Government has imposed high duties on exports of ferro-alloys as a seldom case in the world.
