Japan's domestic market prices of locally available ferrous scrap averaged Y13,327/ton delivered steelworks for No2 HMS in the Kanto, Chubu, and Kansai areas in the fourth week of November 2008, up Y2,567 from a week ago, according to a survey by the Japan Ferrous Raw Materials Association. As a result, the average price went up for two consecutive weeks.
In the fourth week of November 2008, the monitor prices of No2 HMS ex steelworks in cash transactions were Y13,833/ton in Kanto, up Y2,500 from a week ago; Y11,580/ton in Chubu, up Y2,200; and Y14,567/ton in Kansai, up Y3,000. |
