Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500/ton for all grades at its Kyushu works and by Y1,000/ton for all grades at its Utsunomiya works, effective with Dec 11 purchases.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y18,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works, and Y18,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works. Tokyo Steel's purchase prices of local ferrous scrap are unchanged at its Okayama and Takamatsu works. The delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y18,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works, and Y17,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works. |
