Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500/ton for all grades at its Kyushu works and by Y1,000/ton for all grades at its Utsunomiya works, effective with Dec 11 purchases.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y18,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works, and Y18,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
