| China's Oct Pig Iron Exports Stand At 9,896 Tons |

China's monthly pig iron exports stood at 9,896 tons in October 2008, down 74.1% from a year ago, in which Japan took 5,257 tons and South Korea 4,639 tons, according to Chinese customs statistics made available in Tokyo. In January-October 2008, Chinese pig iron exports totaled 245,000 tons, down 56.5% from the same period of 2007. Of the total, Japan took the largest amount of 245,000 tons, down 56.5%; and South Korea the second largest of 76,000 tons, up 63.7%. |
