USA's March Steel Market Continues To Fall
Domestic market prices of steel products in the USA continued to fall in the Middle West as of March 31, according to a survey by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation.

Summing up the findings of the survey, the JISF gives the following report.

<>As of March 31, Midwest market prices of flat products fell by $28 from a month ago to $471/ton for HR sheets, by $25 to $563/ton for CR sheets, by $42 to $627/ton for hot-dip galvanized sheets, and by $99 to $693/ton for heavy plates.

<>As of March 31, Midwest market prices of long products declined by $41 from a month ago to $492/ton for rebars, by $60 to $591/ton for wire rods, and by $53 to $786/ton for structural shapes. As a result, the prices of rebars and wire rods sank to half the peak levels in the summer of last year.
