Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has increased what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500-1,000/ton at its four works, effective with July 1 purchases.
A price increase of Y1,000/ton applies to P&S scrap and another price increase of Y500/ton to other grades for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama, Kyushu, and Takamatsu works in the west of the nation. Also, a price increase of Y1,500/ton applies to P&S scrap and another price increase of Y1,000/ton to other grades for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works in the Kanto area.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y25,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y25,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y25,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; and Y26,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works. |
