Tokyo Steel Ups Scrap Purchase Prices By Y500-1,000 At Four Works
Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has increased what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500-1,000/ton at its four works, effective with July 8 purchases.

At the Okayama and Kyushu works, a price increase of Y1,000/ton applies to seaborne arrivals of all grades, while another price increase of Y500/ton applies to overland arrivals of all grades. At the Takamatsu works, a price increase of Y500/ton applies to seaborne and overland arrivals of all grades. At the Utsunomiya works, a price increase of Y500/ton applies to overland arrivals of all grades.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y27,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y26,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y27,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y26,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y26,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; and Y27,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
