| Tokyo Steel Restarts EAF At Okayama Works |

Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has resumed operations of the 150t DC electric arc furnace since July 18 at the company's flagship Okayama works, ahead of the initially scheduled resumption in early August, according to a July 21 announcement by Japan's largest electric steelmaker. The 150t DC EAF was shut down after a May 16 explosion that broke out during its charging. Then, the company struggled to restore the steelmaking unit toward resumed operations in early August. |
