Outokumpu / Finland Will End Temporary Layoffs
= 900 Employees At Stainless Steel Production Lines Will Return To Work From End September
According to an announcement made on the 24th of August by Outokumpu in Finland, their Tornio Works is moving to end the currently on-going part-time temporary layoffs for about 900 maintenance and support employees and these employees will return to work from the end of September, when is one month earlier than that as initially planned.

Among these temporary layoffs, about 700 employees will return to steel production from the beginning of September. This arrangement copes with a raise of operations at steel division (to resume operations of electric furnaces).

However, the fixed-period temporary layoffs for about 250 employees at the Kemi chrome mine and ferro-chrome refinery will end according to plan in early October.

For a reference, Tornio Works in Finland employs 2,300 workers, of which 1,800 workers have been in the scope of the fixed-period or part-time temporary layoffs between in April - October period.
