Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices By Y1,000 At Four Works
Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by a uniform Y1,000/ton for all grades at its Okayama, Kyushu, Takamatsu, and Utsunomiya works, effective with Sept 25 arrivals.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y30,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y29,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y28,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y28,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; and Y28,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
