Japan's nationwide production of small bars totaled 761,900 tons in September 2009, down 13.5% from a year ago, when it increased by 3.2% from a month ago, an increase for two consecutive months, according to the Japan Iron & Steel Federation.
Japanese small bar production totaled 6,347,700 tons in January-September 2009, down 24.8% from the same period of 2008, translating into an annualized level of 8,460,000 tons. The production volume hit a cumulative 4,405,900 tons in April-September 2009 or in the first six months of fiscal 2009 (April 2009-March 2010), down 23.7% from the corresponding period of fiscal 2008. |
