China's Nov09 Steel Exports Total 2.74M Tons
China's exports of steel products totaled 2,748,000 tons in November 2009, up 6.6% from a month ago, indicating an increase for six consecutive months, when they increased twofold from June 2009, according to a survey by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation.

In January-November 2009, China's exports of steel products totaled 19,870,000 tons, down 64.2% from the same period of 2008, according to the same survey by the JISF.

The following are the findings of the JISF survey.

<>Of the flat products exported, HR coils accounted for 660,000 tons, up 36.6% from a month ago; galvanized sheets 204,000 tons, up 0.5%; CR sheets 140,000 tons, down 2.1%; heavy plates 62,000 tons, down 3.1%; tinplate 35,000 tons, down 18.6%; and electrical sheets 12,000 tons, up 33.3%.

<>Of the long and tubular products exported, wire rods accounted for 155,000 tons, up 15.7% from a month ago; bars 151,000 tons, down 21.8%; shapes 133,000 tons, down 10.1%; and pipes 450,000 tons, down 4.9%.

<>In the breakdown by Asian destinations, Japan accounted for 44,000 tons, up 33.3% from a month ago; South Korea 659,000 tons, down 12%; Taiwan 56,000 tons, up 5.7%; Thailand 144,000 tons, up 26.3%; Philippines 49,000 tons, up 53.1%; Malaysia 57,000 tons, up 67.6%; Singapore 45,000 tons, down 48.3%; Indonesia 67,000 tons, down 31.6%; and Vietnam 156,000 tons, up 30%. In the breakdown by other destinations, the EU27 nations made up 202,000 tons, up 43.3% from a month ago; and North America 55,000 tons, down 40.2%.
