According to the customs-statistics released in China, the quantities of chrome ore imported by China in the calender year (January - December) of 2009 as well as in a single month of December and broken down by sources were as per the table shown below.
Namely, China imported 6,763,000 tons in material of chrome ore in the calender year of 2009, having had a slight decrease of 1.3% compared with that (6,849,000 tons) in the preceding year of 2008. China imported 944,564 tons of chrome ore in September of 2009, which recorded the largest quantity per month in the past years. However, the imports of chrome ore by China in January and February of 2009 had decreased to a scale of 200,000 tons per month and, then, the imports in March to June recovered to some extent but those in October to December had again a decline. Therefore, the imports of chrome ore by China in 2009 fluctuated to a large extent. |
