Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co increased what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y1,500-2,500/ton at its five works, effective with March 9 arrivals.
A price increase of Y2,500/ton applies to all grades of arrivals at the Okayama works. Another price increase of Y1,500/ton applies to all grades of arrivals at the Kyushu, Takamatsu, Tahara, and Utsunomiya works.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y35,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y34,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y33,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; Y34,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Tahara works; and Y34,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works. |
