Tokyo Steel Ups Scrap Purchase Prices By Y1,000-1,500 At Five Works
Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has increased what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y1,000-1,500/ton at its five works, effective with March 17 arrivals.

A price increase of Y1,000/ton applies to all grades of seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama, Kyushu, and Takamatsu works. Another price increase of Y1,500/ton applies to all grades of overland arrivals at the Tahara and Utsunomiya works.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y38,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y36,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y35,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; Y37,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Tahara works; and Y37,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
