Japan's nationwide production of small bars totaled 656,500 tons in February 2010, down 2.0% from a year ago (up 14.5% from a month ago), standing at a low level of 600,000 tons, according to announced data from the Japan Iron & Steel Federation.
As a result, nationwide production of small bars totaled 1,229,900 tons in January-February 2010, down 1.8% from the same period of 2009, when it translated into an annualized level of 7,380,000 tons.
Japanese small bar production totaled 7,660,100 tons in April 2009-February 2010 or in the first 11 months of fiscal 2009 (April 2009-March 2010), down 16.3% from the corresponding period of fiscal 2008.
