Brazil Exported 6,097 Tons Of Ferro-Niobium In March 2010
= Increased By 12% From That In Feb., Exports For Singapore Enlarged
According to the statistics released in Brazil, the quantities (on material base) of ferro-niobium exported from Brazil in January - March of 2010 as well as in a single month of March were as per the table shown below.

Namely, Brazil exported 6,097 tons in material of ferro-niobium in March of 2010, which increased by 11.6% compared with that (5,463 tons) in the previous month of February and also had a considerable increase of 2.1 times compared to that in the same month of 2009.

The exports of ferro-niobium from Brazil touched the bottom (2,086 tons) in January of 2009 but, after that, continued to recover and finally returned to the same level as that in October of 2008. For a reference, the unit price of Brazilian ferro-niobium averaged on exports in March was US$23,119 per ton, having had a slight fall from That (US$23,205) in February.

In consequence of that Brazil increased their exports of ferro-niobium from the beginning of 2010, the total quantity of ferro-niobium exported from Brazil in January - March quarter of 2010 had reached 15,565 tons on material base, which had a substantial increase of 2.1 times compared with that (7,524 tons) in the same quarter of 2009 but decreased by 16.0% compared to that in the same quarter of 2008.

The quantities (on material base) of ferro-niobium exported from Brazil to main destinations in January - March quarter of 2010 were <> for Netherlands : 4,558 tons (increased by 3.0 timed from that in the same quarter of 2009), <> for China : 3,847 tons (increased by 55.8% from that in 2009), <> for Singapore : 2,276 tons (increased by 83.5% from that in 2009), <> for USA : 2,070 tons (increased by 3.9 times from that in 2009) and <> for Japan : 1,415 tons (increased by 2.3 times from that in 2009), having shown a remarkable recovery from that in the same quarter of 2009. In comparison with the exports in the same period of 2008, the quantities of Brazilian ferro-niobium exported in January - March of 2010 were unable to expand substantially for shipments to Netherlands, China, the USA and Japan, but the exports for Singapore in the first quarter of 2010 had a remarkable increase of 3.3 times compared to that in the same quarter of 2008.

Brazil exported 74,601 tons in total of ferro-alloys in January - March quarter of 2010, which had a considerable increase of 57.3% compared with that in the same quarter of 2009, and the quantities (on material base) of main ferro-alloys exported from Brazil in the first three months of 2010 were <> high carbon ferro-manganese : 1,906 tons (decreased by 20.9% from that in the same quarter of 2009), <> ferro-silicon (with Si 55% min.) : 36,541 tons (increased by 69.1% from that in 2009), <> silico-manganese : 8,815 tons (increased by 4.2 times from that in 2009) and <> high carbon ferro-chrome : 507 tons (increased by 14.1 times from that in 2009). The export of low carbon ferro-manganese from Brazil in January - March quarter of 2010 was only 2 kgs., which had nearly nothing in comparison with that (580 tons) exported from Brazil in the same quarter of 2009.
