Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices By Y1,000 At Five Works
Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by a uniform Y1,000/ton for all grades of arrivals at its five works, effective with June 5 purchases.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y34,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y34,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y32,000/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; Y33,500/ton for seaborne and overland arrivals at the Tahara works; and Y33,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
