Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices By Y1,000 At Five Works
Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by a uniform Y1,000/ton for all grades at its five works, effective with April 26 arrivals.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y41,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y41,000/ton for the corresponding arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y39,000/ton for the corresponding arrivals at the Takamatsu works; Y41,000/ton for the corresponding arrivals at the Tahara works; and Y40,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
