Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices By Y500 At Five Works
Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500/ton from May 28 for all grades of arrivals at its five works.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y36,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y36,500/ton for the corresponding arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y34,000/ton for the corresponding arrivals at the Takamatsu works; Y36,500/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y37,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Tahara works; and Y35,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
