JSW Steel's Crude Steel Production For January Increased To 8.05 Mt
India's JSW Steel Limited reported on Feb 27 monthly Crude Steel production of 8.05 million tonnes for January 2012, with a growth of approximately 39% (2.25 million tonnes) compared to that of corresponding month in the last fiscal year (5.8 million tonnes). At this pace, its crude steel production will exceed 10 Mtpa.

JSW Steel Ltd., belonging to JSW group, part of the O P Jindal Group, is one of the leading steel producers in the world. The company has steelmaking facilities at Vijayanagar integrated steelworks (Karnataka), Vasind Works, Tarapur Works and Salem Works. Production capacity at the company's main Vijayanagar works was rapidly expanded, reaching capacity of 10Mtpa as a single steel plant.

JSW Steel owns Vijayanagar Minerals Private Limited in India with own iron mine. Also, the company established Santa Fe Mining (mining company, 70% stake) in Chile, developing iron ore business.
