Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices By Y500 At Five Works
Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by a uniform Y500/ton for all grades at its five works, effective with March 10 arrivals.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y34,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y33,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y34,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y33,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y32,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Takamatsu works; Y34,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Tahara works; and Y33,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
